MUSEUM NASIONAL
Museum
Nasional Indonesia is the oldest and largest museum in Indonesia, even in
Southeast Asia. The National Museum is located at Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat 12,
or exactly in the west side of the monument Monas (Monumen Nasional). The
establishment of the Museum Nasional begins with the establishment of a set of
named Bataviaasch Genootscahp van Kunsten en Wetenscappen, established by the
Dutch colonial government on 24 April 1778. One of the founders, the JCM.
Radermacher.
The Museum Nasional also known as Museum
Gajah, Why is it called Museum Gajah? This is because the image of the elephant
on the front of the museum. Elephant statues made of bronze is a gift from King
Chulalongkorn of the Kingdom of Thailand (th 1871). In addition to the statue
of the elephant, in the courtyard of the museum there are also several ancient
cannon neat. The Museum Nasional is also often called Gedung Arca. That's
because many collections of statues of various ages were in this building.
Despite having a wide range of collections of statues, but there is one statue
is so well-known here, the Arca Bhairawa. Arca height of more than 4 meters is
so striking standing tall among other statues are smaller. National Museum open
daily at 08.00 am - 16.00 pm except Mondays and national holidays / religious.
Admission Museum mixed, namely Adult: Rp 5.000, -, Children: Rp 2.000, -, visitor
groups (min. 20 people), Adults: Rp 3.000, -, children (kindergarten-high
school): USD 1,000 , whereas Foreign Visitors (Foreign Tourists): Rp 10.000, -.
The
Museum Nasional has a collection of objects of heritage of the entire
archipelago. In 2006 the number of national museum collection has exceeded
140,000 pieces, although only a third that can be shown to khalayak.Berbagai
kinds of artifacts can be found in this museum, ranging from inscriptions,
statues, to crafts of the past. The collection is grouped into several
categories, such as ethnography, bronze, prehistoric, ceramics, textiles,
numismatic, historical relics and precious objects.
Experience,
I've never been to the national museum, I think the atmosphere in the national
museum is quiet, spacious building, where also clean and tidy. Hope I hope the
National Museum building is maintained, the collection grew, and more and more
visitors.
Sekian,
semoga bermanfaat, thank you..
